Grant Proposal Application
The HEAL Foundation is proud to announce that over $100,000 was granted to programs and projects in 2007. HEAL encourages the submission of grants for 2008, especially summer programs for children with autism. The next round of grants will be awarded in March 2008. Please submit your organization’s grant by February 29th in order to be considered.
The HEAL Foundation is a 501(c)(3) Non-Profit Foundation created to assist those affected by Autism Spectrum Disorders (ASD). The HEAL Foundation will accept applications from individuals or non-profit organizations. The HEAL Foundation is interested in supporting new and innovative programs and/or research opportunities that will benefit individuals with ASD. The Foundation values community-based collaborations, inclusive programming, or projects that incorporate parents, teachers, adults, and children as advisors, supporters, or volunteers.
Applications for projects, programs, equipment, or research which will enhance, enrich, or improve the lives of children with ASD are encouraged. Funds may also be used for workshops or assemblies to educate parents, faculty, administrators, and "typical children” on the high prevalence of autism, as well as how to accommodate and assimilate children with ASD into their communities.
Personal financial aid grants are available through Autism Cares ( www.autismcares.org) or the National Autism Association (www.nationalautismassociation.org). HEAL does not have the capability to make individual grants at this time.
The HEAL Foundation is predicated on five conceptual pillars: Education, Awareness, Treatment, Research, and Prevention. In addition to facilitating therapy programs and support services for families in need, the foundation offers educational seminars and conferences for families, therapists, and educators in the Greater Jacksonville area.
In keeping with the vision and mission of HEAL, funds will be considered for grants that demonstrate aspects of the following:
- Assisting individuals on the autism spectrum;
- Focusing on improving the lives of families in the Greater Jacksonville area;
- Providing low-cost or free programs;
- Fostering community support through matching funds or fees;
- Agreeing to provide the HEAL Foundation with the names and contact information of their participants and to be surveyed for outcomes by the HEAL Foundation and
- Displaying the ability to teach their methods and review their outcomes with other like-minded organizations or therapists. This component is considered critical to any grant application. Proposals must demonstrate the intent to apply the “Pay It Forward” concept to programs HEAL supports. This commitment will lend an exponential quality to results and outcomes of grants HEAL provides.
