*Updated 2010 The HEAL Foundation is proud to announce that close to $700,000 has been granted across the First Coast since June of 2007. HEAL encourages the submission of grants from individuals and organizations working to improve the lives of families with autism in the Greater Jacksonville Area. Grants are reviewed in the fall and spring of each year. Our monthly newsletters and events calendar have updates on when to submit a grant. In order to meet the ever-growing needs of the Autism Community of North Florida, HEAL is limiting future grant requests for school classrooms up to $2,000 per grant application. For camps and programs that serve a large number of individuals, grant applications of up to $5,000 will be accepted. This will allow HEAL to serve more programs, camps and classrooms on the First Coast. If you have questions on HEAL’s updated grant policies, please email us at events@HealAutismNow.org. The HEAL Foundation is a 501(c)(3) Non-Profit Foundation created to assist those affected by Autism Spectrum Disorders (ASD). The HEAL Foundation will accept applications from individuals or non-profit organizations. The HEAL Foundation is interested in supporting new and innovative programs and/or research opportunities that will benefit individuals with ASD. The Foundation values community-based collaborations, inclusive programming, or projects that incorporate parents, teachers, adults, and children as advisors, supporters, or volunteers. Applications for projects, programs, equipment, or research which will enhance, enrich, or improve the lives of children with ASD are encouraged. Funds may also be used for workshops or assemblies to educate parents, faculty, administrators, and "typical children” on the high prevalence of autism, as well as how to accommodate and assimilate children with ASD into their communities. Personal financial aid grants are available through Autism Cares or the National Autism Association. HEAL does not have the capability to make individual grants at this time. The HEAL Foundation is predicated on five conceptual pillars: Education, Awareness, Treatment, Research, and Prevention. In addition to facilitating therapy programs and support services for families in need, the foundation offers educational seminars and conferences for families, therapists, and educators in the Greater Jacksonville area.
